ESPN 28 Days of Awesome With JP Walker
Camp of ChampionsLook at how much fun you missed up on the glacier this summer. Launch Gallery »
When you were still just a wee grom, did you ever have that friend who was lucky enough to get given the golden ticket into camp? We’re not talking band camp, space camp, or even rock-n-roll fantasy camp — we’re talking Camp of Champions? Were you jealous that they got to hang out with all the pros and learn all the latest tricks? Did you wait all fall, expecting this so-called friend to start busting out double corks once the snow started falling?
Then again, perhaps you were one of the ones who would find work at camp, maybe volunteering — or maybe you lucked out and got a paying job as a digger, a cook, or even security. Whatever your story was (or is), there remains one common factor: You came to camp to ride. For about four weeks in July of every year, Whistler is overrun with shreds coming down off the glacier, draining their boots (from the pow turns, not rain), grabbing their other deck to skate at the compound, go paint-balling, you name it. If you’ve never done it before, take a couple minutes out to scroll through this gallery and imagine how good life can be for a summer shred. Launch Gallery »

JP Wraps Up Mt Hood Session
Come and gone just like that JP’s Signature Session at High Cascade Snowboard Camp at Mt. Hood is a wrap. Under blue skies and sunshine JP and the crew spent their days doing mini pipe handplants and making the campers’ experience as awesome as possible. After camps were spent playing dodgeball and in foam pits and of course eating Cobra Dogs. A few side trips were also taken, one to Hood’s infamous punch bowl cliff jump and the other to an abandoned gas station in Portland for a skate session.

JP Walkers Summer Bootcamp
June 26th – July 3rd was Send It With Stepchild Week at Camp of Champions. JP headed up the glacier on Whistler to shred every day despite the mixed bag weather. Fortunately, the guys got a couple of sunny days and got to break out the sunscreen and sunglasses.
After camps were spent mini ramping, paintballing, playing bump and of course sting ponging until every last player was welted.
Stevie Goes to Bootcamp
A few weeks ago, Pro Snowboarder and DBOT5 lifestyle golfer Stevie Bell spent some uber-exciting time out in the luscious lands of California getting a taste of Spy’s 8th Annual Summer Bootcamp!
Very much in Stevie style, he was seen exerting what appears to be a lifetime amount of endless energy surfing, wakeboarding and riding moto. It’s kinda exhausting just watching Stevie. We’re pretty sure he may be part robot…but we’ll have to get back to you on that one. (Research in progress.) Take a peek at some pictures of Stevie, making his way through the bootcamp madness!

Spy’s Summer Bootcamp is a sort-of fantasy retail contest which gives nine of their lucky retailers the chance to experience what the real California dream is all about! The five days of events take place right in Spy’s backyard, alongside Spy’s pro athletes. DBOT5 is super proud that our man Stevie had the chance to give us a look in side his adventures with Spy. The Bootcamp 8 crew also got to check out the Summer X Games for a day as well as hit up the “Fantasy Factory” for a Monster party with skateboarder Rob Dyrdek. LA Galaxy’s Josh Saunders Tees Off At Trump National Golf Club
By: Marissa Foglia
With the World Cup in full force, DBOT5 thought it’d be fun to hunt down some MLS players who have a thing for golf. So we chatted up one of our favorite lifestyle golfers, the LA Galaxy’s Josh Saunders.

Saunders recently took some time out from cheering on teammate Landon Donovan and the U.S., to hit the impressive course over at Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles. Sure Saunders’ day may have entailed a challenging course, punk music, and a little anger release on the 18th hole, but it remained a luxury golf experience nonetheless. We’d expect nothing less from a Trump course.
“The views of Catalina were amazing,” he said. “I brought along the radio blasting’ a little punk and ska, DJ’d by my golf partner Rory Campbell, lead singer of Just Because.”
And you already know the 29-year-old Galaxy goalkeeper was stylin’ with his DBOT5 clubs as he meandered his way through the 18 holes along Trump’s perfectly-manicured, yet somewhat frustrating course.
“Got out a little frustration on Hole 18,” he said. “Bangin’ a couple balls into the ocean…much to the dismay of the course manager. Nothin’ like a little 7 iron birdies on the par threes. Probably the hardest course ever. Even the pros say it’s enough to make you take a couple Patron shots along the way.”
Hey, at least he’s honest!
“All in all a good great day at the course. Sun, golf, tunes…and a little Patron.”
DBOT5 Hits Hollywood For Transworld SKATEboarding Awards
By: Marissa Foglia
Transworld held its 12th Annual SKATEboarding Awards on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. DBOT5 was on hand and ready to mingle among the invite-only skateboarding crowd!

Of course we wanted to be there, since the event was hosted by DBOT5’s athletic supporter and golfer Pat Duffy…which, as expected, made for an entertaining time. Duffy welcomed the few thousand skateboarding guests to the ceremony which was held at Hollywood’s historic Avalon Theater at Hollywood & Vine.
DBOT5’s founder Bryce Hepworth stopped in to the event with hopes to bring on more skateboarders to DBOT5’s current roster of golfing athletic supporters. Hepworth took in the scene while hanging out among the likes of Pat Duffy, Bam Magera and Anthony Manfredi, who was nice enough to hook up DBOT5 at the event. Many thanks Anthony!
The award winners were determined by polling over 150 professional skateboarders worldwide. The night’s awards went to:
BEST ROOKIE Brandon Westgate
BEST VIDEO PART Grant Taylor – “Debacle”
BEST TEAM Flip
BEST STREET Chris Cole
BEST TRANSITION Grant Taylor
BEST VIDEO Extremely Sorry
TWS READERS’ CHOICE Lizard King
Hepworth also spent some time taking part of a stellar photo shoot with JP Walker over in Carlsbad, CA. Pictures from the shoot of JP swinging some swanky DBOT5 clubs will be surfacing soon! So be sure to keep an eye out.
