With snow already falling in the Salt Lake area, DBOT’s Stevie Bell has backside 180 nose presses on the brain. Thankfully Stevie had a pretty packed pre-season so he won’t be rusty when he drops into his first double kink rails of the 2009-2010 season.

On June 22nd Stevie headed for Camp of Champions Snowboard Camp in Whistler, BC. Stevie and the rest of the Forum crew spent a week during their “Send It With” session hitting up the rail gardens and summer slush booters on the Blackcomb glacier. They also swung some clubs, skated the mini ramp and had a crazy dodge ball session during the after camp activities with their fans — the campers. In an interview for the COC website one camper called Stevie his favorite pro shred.

Later in the summer Stevie rode at Windell’s Snowboard Camp at Mount Hood, OR. On the 2nd of August the adult campers along with Stevie and some of the coaches got to hit up a Portland sushi joint for “Sushi with Stevie.” Since this was part of the adult camp sushi and sake bombs were downed.

Stevie and a lovely shred lady at Windell's

Anyone who has been to snowboard camp will tell you that contests are what it’s all about but usually the contests are for campers only. I guess Stevie and some of the other pros were jealous so they put on their own contest, a game of S.K.A.T.E. Out in BOB (building out back) a.k.a. Windell’s skate park. Stevie threw down some smooth tricks against the likes of JP Walker, MFM and Joe Sexton.

Fast forward to September 11th, yes 9/11. The World Premier of Forum “Forever” was screened in San Diego. This years’ Forum team video captures some super stylish moves from Stevie, in particular a couple of epic wall rides.

If you missed the premier of “Forever” fear not the video is currently on tour in North America. If you missed the tour in your town there’s still hope; you can download it from itunes. Just be aware that you’ll miss out on Stevie’s antics and hilarious personality (as pictured below).

Cop segway? Stevie on the Forever video tour

Get ready boys and girls because winter is just around the corner.

About JP:

JP Walker is one of the most influential snowboarders of all time. He was at the forefront of snowboarding’s jib revolution in the late 90’s. Leaning on his skateboard background he created some of the most innovative and technical tricks ever done on rails and ledges. Since he dominates rails, people tend to forget that he is talented in the backcountry too, for example his double cork 900 in the MDP video Shakedown. JP has inspired everyone from young beginners to seasoned pros with over ten years of impressive video parts in snowboarding’s top productions and masses of coverage in magazines worldwide. His efforts have also been recognized with awards like Snowboarder magazine’s Top 10 Rider’s of the Year (five times in a row) and Snowboarder’s Top 20 Most Influential Riders from the last 20 Years. JP spent the 2008/2009 season filming for This Video Sucks, a collaborative film released this fall by two of his main sponsors Stepchild Snowboards and Thirtytwo. His part in the film is proof of his ability to continually push the progression of snowboarding.

After a busy season of filming for People Creative’s video Nice Try DBOT5 team rider Seth Huot took some well deserved time off. Along with his wife and son, Seth hit the beaches of Kauai in early June. But it wasn’t long before chill time was over and he was back at work.

From July 11 -18 Seth was at “Send It With… People,” week up at Camp of Champions Snowboard Camp in Whistler. Seth and a whole crew of riders and filmers from People were on hand to show campers how to nail tricks and to give them the chance to appear in the film alongside top pros like Seth.

Seth must have missed his Harley while he was up in Canada, because he decided to get a couple of friends together to ride their motorcycles from Salt Lake to High Cascade Snowboard Camp at Mount Hood in August. In Burley, Idaho 1 of the 5 dudes went down going about 70 miles an hour. Fortunately he came out of it more or less unscathed with only a broken shoulder. Though the crew was pretty shook up they continued on when it was confirmed that their buddy was a-okay. Once they reached Hood it was non-stop shred time.

Seth with Volcom Team Manager Billy Anderson

Last week the premier of Nice Try went down in Carlsbad at the Transworld Headquarters. Seth was there to celebrate a season of busting his butt and the result –his closing part! Word on the street is that Seth’s part is super well-rounded with tech rails, backcountry bangers and some gnarly slams too. The footage Seth put together this season was more than a nice try.

The Dbot5 crew has many supportive wake, skate and snow riders. We were a little curious as to the inner workings of Shane Bonifay. We caught up with the Pro wake boarder of Lake Alfred, FL. And asked him a few questions. Shane has been tearing it up in the wake biz a long time,

“I have water skied my whole life, since I was 3 and then I started wakeboarding at 11. And it is going to be like 14 years now.” Says Bonifay.
But we wanted to find out more about his relationship with golf.
So how did this professional wake boarder get into golf?
“Just something to do after wakeboarding all day and I like the concentration behind it.”

What is his motivation behind golfing?
“Not to much motivation just want to hit the *** out of the ball.”

What is one strength in his golf game? One weakness?
“Sand is a strength and terrible at putting.”

What’s his most embarrassing golf moment?
“Hole through a window.”

Who is his favorite person to go golfing with?
“Dan Harf and Rod Re-Go.”

And finally, we want to know what’s in his golf bag?
“My grandfather gave me all these plastic tees that are massive and I got 3 gloves and a lighter and 7 range balls and a cuzie for the beers.”

We love Shane’s professional work and the style he brings Dbot5’s lifestyle golf team. Dbot5 says: Do what makes you Happy! Holla.

Most people think that pro snowboarders are on vacation all summer long, but snowboarding is not seasonal work. To prove it here is a run down of what JP Walker has been up to for the past couple of months.

In late June JP headed to Canada for a “Send It With” Session at Camp of Champions in Whistler. JP was on hand to ride the park and show kids a thing or two about doing 270s to switch front boards.

JP might have been working the rail garden but he’s the one that got worked while playing paintball during one after camp session. Bruises, bleeding knuckles and a paint smeared face –is that how kids treat their favorite pros these days?

Paintball Injury

The Don loves to golf so it’s fitting that the second after camp activity he joined in on was a trip to the driving range. The kids were stoked as JP cruised around giving them pointers and then crushed a few balls himself.

Grip Expertise

After COC JP practically headed straight to New York City for the 32 Outerwear Launch. When JP wasn’t showing off the new outerwear line he was busy with other NYC activities like a stroll through Central Park, a Complex Magazine shoot complete with a visit to 50 Cents’ office and a visit to the Yankees’ new stadium to catch a game.

Talkin' Boots

The 32 Outerwear Launch party got shut down by the NYPD right before the sneak peek of JP’s part in the upcoming Stepchild/Thirtytwo video rolled. Now everyone’s asking if the whole thing is switch like it’s rumored to be. But JP’s not talking –fans are going to have to wait until it premiers to find out.

Shutting down the streets of NYC

From NYC JP headed to Mount Hood. JP was at High Cascade Snowboard Camp for his Signature Session with his bro Jeremy Jones. JP and Jeremy hosted a ‘Front Board Off’ contest. The winner who front boarded better than the rest of the field for a total of 5 rounds scored some free stuff from the guys’ sponsors and a couple of cookies right out of JP’s lunch bag.

What’s next for JP? Maybe a surf trip is in the cards after a long summer (yes summer) of shred and travel.
